Makeup artist for 15 years.
DJ in 12 months flat.
So here's the thing —
I spent 15+ years building one of Boston's most-loved bridal beauty teams. Then in July 2024, I bought my first controller, taught myself to mix in my apartment (sorry, neighbors), and by August I'd booked my first real gig.
Music has always been my first love. I'm a singer, musician, dancer, and lifelong lover of electronic music. I fell in love with underground dance floors, global sounds, and the kind of nights that remind you how alive you are.
Less than two years later, I've gone from playing local gigs in Boston to performing internationally in places like Tulum and Bali, opening for artists I used to watch from the crowd, and playing everything from beach clubs and festivals to underground afters.
But this was never just about becoming a DJ.
It's about music. Community. Connection. Taking chances on yourself. Building a life around the things that light you up.
These days I'm building Simon Says: Dance, helping grow the electronic music scene that gave me so much, sharing where to find great dance music around the world, and showing people that the DJ booth, the dream job, the big move, or whatever you're afraid to try, is probably a lot closer than it looks.
If my story proves anything, it's that you don't need permission. You don't need to have it all figured out. You don't need to be the youngest, coolest, or most experienced person in the room.
You just have to start.
Because doing more of what makes you feel alive is kind of the whole point. 🤍
